Food:
The Anasazi began cultivating maize. Horticulture became increasingly important in the growing Anasazi culture. The cultivation of maize, squash and beans had become a major food source, almost more important than hunting. Since they lived in the harsh environments of the deserts , much of their time was spend gathering for food. Most of the wild game in the area were small and hard to catch. The men spent much of the day hunting for meat , while the woman would stay at their homes and take care of chores.
Woman's jobs:
The woman of the tribe stayed in their Pueblos and worked. They had to weave cloth by hand and grind maize into flour with stones. These jobs were extremely important and time consuming.The examinations of the remains of the skeletons of many elderly Anasazi women show severe arthritis caused by constant bending, kneeling and grinding.
